What is a high-efficiency water reducer What is a high-efficiency water reducer
High-efficiency water reducer is a chemical admixture that can significantly improve the workability of concrete and significantly reduce water consumption. At present, the widely used water reducers mainly include: lignin-based water reducer, naphthalene-based high-efficiency water-reducer, melamine-based high-efficiency water-reducer and polycarboxylate-based superplasticizer. The research on the cracking performance of mortar shows that the addition of high-efficiency water reducer can reduce the cracking sensitivity of cement mortar and prolong the initial cracking time of cement mortar. The shrinkage value of the mortar mixed with high-efficiency superplasticizer increases with the increase of the content.
The development history of superplasticizer:
The first generation of superplasticizers—naphthyl superplasticizers and melamine resin-based superplasticizers were developed in the early 1960s. Due to their performance compared with ordinary superplasticizers—they were developed in the late 1930s. Lignosulfonate is the representative—it has been significantly improved, so it is also called superplasticizer. The second generation superplasticizer is sulfamate, although it is after the third generation superplasticizer-polycarboxylate in chronological order. The graft copolymer with both sulfonic acid groups and carboxylic acid groups is the most important of the third generation of high-efficiency water reducers, and the performance is also the best high-performance water reducer.
The scope of application of high-efficiency water reducer:
1. It is suitable for prefabricated and cast-in-place reinforced concrete in various industrial and civil buildings, water conservancy, transportation, ports, municipal and other projects.
2. It is suitable for high-strength, ultra-high-strength and medium-strength concrete, as well as concrete that requires early strength, moderate frost resistance and high fluidity.
3. Precast concrete components suitable for steam curing process.
4. It is suitable for water-reducing and strengthening components (masterbatch) of various compound admixtures.
